Rules for Using a Credit Card

  1. Never carry a balance.

  2. Don’t use a credit card if you haven’t paid off your credit card in full every month for the past twelve months.

  3. Build a budget before using a credit card.

  4. Carefully monitor your spending.

  5. Stop using the credit card if your spending gets out of control (this can happen even if you are paying it off every month).

  6. Determine what credit card rewards are best for you.

  7. Evaluate your credit card fees.

  8. Be mindful of your credit card limit.

  9. Be careful! Using credit cards is playing with fire. If you aren’t careful you will get burned.
